Konstantinos is a Global Tech and Digital Expert with the International Finance Corporation/World Bank Group, specializing in Digital Transformation and FinTech. He previously led the Innovation and Data arm of WEMA Bank Plc, Nigeria's oldest indigenous bank, which launched West Africa's first digital bank, Alat. With over 18 years of hands-on experience across different continents and industries—FinTech, Banking, Energy (Oil, Gas, and Utilities), Consulting, High Tech, Academia, and Military—Konstantinos has held roles requiring diverse skills, giving him a comprehensive 360° view of both startups and large corporations.
In his previous roles, he focused on the growth of the corporate incubator within Thomson Reuters, particularly for Startups and SMEs across MENA. He led the strategy and sales department of Bayzat, the highest-funded InsureTech in the Middle East, and worked on business development for Bloomberg LP across the Middle East and Africa. He has also advised multiple Fortune 500 companies with Kaiser Associates, improved the performance of EDF Energy (now UK Power Networks) as a strategic advisor, and maintained academic engagements by delivering lectures and conducting research at leading universities. Recognized as a subject matter expert, Konstantinos has published work in books, conferences, industry, and mainstream publications and received multiple industry awards, including Finovator of the Year 2019 and Digital Bank of the Year. He holds a PhD in Financial Technology from the University of Edinburgh, where he was a Stephen Cooke Scholar.
